Re: Motor Pulling SOB
While you remember where the wires go mark it on masking tape wrap around wires. One hour a day I would forget. Mine only has a few... But still. Have FUN!

Re: Motor Pulling SOB
An hour a day was way too much an estimate of how much time I had. Since then we had a winter where I didn't want to go in my garage much, I adopted one kid, had another kid through birth (well my wife did the birthing), changed jobs (which will free up my time better).
So where I am at now, I am going this friday to pick up the block from the guys who bored and honed it and polished the crank. I am also getting my kit from them so maybe in another year (or hopefully by october) I will have the engine back in and running. My garage time will still be limited for a while by the excessive heat. I do need to finish this project now that I have another car project to work on sitting in my driveway - a '83 diesel benz that I intend to be my commute to work car. That is a story for another forum though.

Like everyone else says, unless the trans needs to come out, just leave it in the truck. A 2x4 the right length between the frame rails works nicely to support the trans if you need to move the truck while the engine out.
