Difference b/t 67-72 Lowered Springs and 73-87 Lowered Springs?
Are there any difference? My 72 suburban has 73-87 Control arms, but has 6102-2 on the coil springs, which are 2 inch dropped. The number appears to be for 67-72. It's got me confused. I'm about to buy some drop spindles and want to get the correct ones.

The springs are fully interchangeable.

That I have never understood either. The spring vendors could sell more springs if they'd catalog them correctly as to heir fitment. 63-87 trucks and 63-91 Suburban springs all interchange.

What's the difference on the spindles then? Mine are 1 inch thick.

Re: Difference b/t 67-72 Lowered Springs and 73-87 Lowered Springs?
Lower balljoints fit 71-87, but uppers are 71-72 and 73-87 fitment. All 71-72 trucks used the 1.25 inch thick rotors. The early 73 and newer trucks also all used the same thick rotors. In the middle of the 73-87 range, GM started using the 1 inch rotors on some trucks but still continued with the 1.25 rotors on other trucks.
All that is from memory. If I'm wrong about any specifics, Keith will be along shortly to straighten it out.

Seems like there's less of a selection of spindles for the 1 inch rotors.

You have a perfect memory! The 73-87 spindles are the only spindles that can be ordered to fit the 1" rotors. If you need calipers and bearings,... as well as new rotors,... switch to the HD 1.25" wide version.

Are lowering coils from 1960- 1972 and the lowering coil form 1973- 1987 the same as well? I have a stock 72 front end. Websites have the 1960-1972 front lowering coils priced higher.

63-87 all interchange but there are no 60-62 front coil springs. Those trucks used torsion springs rather than coils.
