79 gmc truck bed replacement
I just bought this truck and am wondering how easy/hard it is to replace the floor of the bed. Is it spot welded together or bolted?

Re: 79 gmc truck bed replacement
The braces are welded to the under side of the floor. If you buy a new floor or get a used one just change it out as a unit. Yes new floor comes with braces welded on.

Re: 79 gmc truck bed replacement
there are two welds right where the bed sides met the floor .. in those corners.. its not hard to pop them with a good shisel and hammer then just have them re welded once you replace the wood floor.. the rest of the bed is held together with 9/16 head bolts

Re: 79 gmc truck bed replacement
This is a fleetside with steel floor. I actually picked up a bed yesterday for $100 so I can remove the floor and replace it with the one I have. Thank you all.
