What to use on firewall???
I spent most of my day Sunday stripping ( chipping and scraping) down my firewall. The previous owner coated it with what looks like stone guard or something and did a crap job of it. It was a lot of work with a sharp wood chisel but I managed to get it pretty well down to metal. I will sand it down and finish it up hopefully this weekend. What primer should I use and what paint would be best suited to redo the firewall???

I would use self etching primer and a high temp paint. Lizard skin is also good for this applacation as well.

Re: What to use on firewall???
What are you doing with the truck? Is it going to be a weekend toy, daily driver or show truck? If it's going to be a weekend toy or Daily driver, I'd look into something like por-15. You don't need a primer with something like that (it bonds to the metal to stop rusting), and it is a grossy black and I believe there is a paintable version out there somewhere. If it's going to be a show truck, You'll want to use the same paint and primer you'd use to paint the rest of the truck. Thats the way I would do it, now I'm sure everyone else has there own opinion.
