Re: 55-59 Electric Wiper Conversion
The 57 I had in highschool days had factory electric wipers, and both my 58 and 59 have factory wipers that are electric??? To convert from vaccum to electric just put in a factory electric unit and the switch. I thought places like Carter sold them?

Hmmmm, you can go to webrodder.com, then click on tech articles. If I remember right, it's about halfway down the list. There's probably a couple hundred tech articles there. There's also a good one for one piece door glass and power windows on the Task Force trucks.
I see your "Posted via Mobile Device" and that link is a pdf file online, does that make a difference? Forgive my ignorance, my phone only makes phone calls.

Re: 55-59 Electric Wiper Conversion
SPW is hard to beat. In many cases we build from just a hull and all the OEM parts are missing. If you need to buy the shafts, linkage, and motor, you can easily get well above the cost of the SPW kit.
I am running one in my 47 and just bought another kit for the 48F1 that I am building. If you already have a wiper switch, you can get the most basic kit for around $230. |
