Re: Lower control arm installation

The shaft is centered by a round notch in the shaft which registers with a small hump in one of the u-bolt saddles.

if you go to this link http://ridetechtv.com/2011/03/chevy-...l-part-4-of-5/ and watch the video or you can skip to around 1:40 on scroll bar and it will show you the locator dowel pin notch in lower a-arm......

Re: Lower control arm installation

According to the directions that came with the Moog shaft kit: Torque bushings to 100 foot pounds and make sure that the distance from each shaft shoulder to control arm inner surface is equal.

Re: Lower control arm installation

I am sorry to resurrect a really old thread but I replacing the lower control arm bushings on a 64 c10. I have the bushings installed and torqued and the shaft centered. The manual that I have shows that the distance from the flange on the control arm to the step in the shaft should be 3/4”. Mine are not that close and I have not seen that number anywhere else. Does it matter or just that it is centered? Thank you.
