Re: Got the big truck runnin finally

Probably a deuce and a half my friend has a few trucks on those axles, I don't see someone going through all the work for a school bus frame but then again people do just about everything

When I was in the Army, We had a duece that was converted to a 5ton, same body but all new running gear, we called it a duece but it technically was a 5ton.

Re: Got the big truck runnin finally

Love the truck, the 5 ton setup is heavy, but it works. Might look into getting a bigger set of spring packs, the ones on their dont look overly substantial. Also, if you guys get serious with it, this guy http://adamsoffroadperformance.com/ makes some great 5 ton parts, and is working on getting billet parts made for 5 tons.

For now there substantial i did some tests and it goes great. does 18mph at 3000 rpm thats all the gearing it needs since its a big truck. but since its not my truck its not getting anything else done to it all the owner (my friend) wanted was it to be running so he could mud it and we fullfilled that so he will be happy when he gets back from iraq

The term deuce is a shortened version of deuce and a half or 2.5 ton. A 5 ton is just that a 5 ton, not a deuce. A deuce is only in reference to the 2.5 ton. Glad you got the truck running for your military buddy though.
