Driving to a travel baseball game with my kids I spotted this 67 small back window shortbed fleetside truck next to a vaccant house. the grass is all grown up and it looks like its been there a while. Im gonna go back and see if I can talk with the neighbor and find out about it... heres some pictures I took; whats it worth?

Nice find. Hopefully they will sell. There are a ton of guys around here that have old trucks and they just park em' and let them die slow deaths. Sad.

in the first pic, behind it to our right, is an early honda CVVC, this is what evolved into the civic.
the truck looks to hav no motor, and a rotted out wood bed floor.
I wouldn't expect it to be worth too much honestly.

huh, looks like the owner likes hondas You can see rust on the rear well on the truck.
If the other side is as straight looking, the frame still solid, may be worth it's weight in sheetmetal.
There's rust forming on the rear bedside, and the tailgate looks bent.

That old Honda is a mid-seventies Civic with a CVCC (Controlled Vortex Combustion Chamber) engine. It used a third, small intake valve, and the mixture was ignited in a small chamber, which then sent a flame into the main combustion chamber. It met then-current smog requirements without need for catalytic converters, which came into common use in 1975.

I have eyeballed something really similar to this one, sitting behind an abandoned house near my dad's place. It is a blue and white 68 C10 custom, looks like med blue with the white grille section, and chrome trim around the grille. There's a big sign at the end of the driveway 'No Trespassing' hanging across a rope. I can't see much of the truck for the weeds grown up around it but I am going to try to buy it. Can't tell if it's a LWB or SWB from the road. I don't think anyone lives at this old house, probably hasn't been anyone there for several years if I had to guess.

the truck turned out to be junk, all rusted out way beyond repair... but since so many are interested in the Hondas here is a link with more pictures.

To clarify, the Honda to the right is not a CVCC model.

Longhorn Man, The Honda CVCC was not a model. It was a trim level of the Honda Civic. Such as the LX, DX and Si are trim levels of the Civics in later years. In 1973, Honda brought out the Civic with only a 1.2L engine. It was known (not officially) as a 1200. In 1975, the CVCC engine came out and Honda had two trim levels of Civic. Just the regular Civic and the Civic CVCC.

Stocker, the Civic in the picture in the opening post is actually a 1973-1977 Civic with the 1.2L engine. Years models are known because the front turn signals on the '73-77 models were mounted on top of the bumper like fog lights. They were mounted under the bumper for 1978-79 models. I know it's a 1200 because on the passenger fender, towards the door is a side emblem. It's just a large H with HONDA written in smaller font through the center of the large H. The CVCC model had HONDA above CVCC.

The other car in the link just above is from 1973-75 and a 1200 automatic as well. The year model is denoted by the door mirror which was only available in that style in these years. It's not CVCC because the hatch emblem on the left simply says CIVIC. As with the fenders, the CVCC would have been on there as with it. The far left emblem reads HONDAMATIC to denote transmission.
