Custom Tail light ideas fleetside....
Anyone have some pics of custom tail lights you put in the bed sides and not in the rollpan. Looking for ideas for my fleetside.

Re: Custom Tail light ideas fleetside....
This probably isn't radical enough for ya', but I just have blue dots in mine. The way they fit in the pattern of the taillight is almost like they were made for each other. Anyway, I just think blue dots are kinda' neat in general.

Another version with Caddy lights - I turned 'em upside down and placed 'em a little lower .

Re: Custom Tail light ideas fleetside....
blue dots look good. Has anyone bought the led set from LMC? Can't tell if they'd look cool or.... you know.

Re: Custom Tail light ideas fleetside....
I think both ways the caddy lights were done was cool... position based off the height of the two tone. Mine would be a solid color so id probably position it like the first one if i went that route. How did you guys do it? Aftermarket buckets?

I put them lower to fit the contour of the bed. The two-tone was an afterthought as my first color was all silver |

Re: Custom Tail light ideas fleetside....
I always thought Suburban tails would look cool on a fleetside but I don't think the bedrail is tall enough to put em in the right spot. Maybe swapped and flipped?

Re: Custom Tail light ideas fleetside....
I have recently converted my stock taillights with these 136 LED Clusters. I use these to convert Harley taillights in my shop. They are brighter than any cluster I have come across in over ten years. I only had to trim 1/32" off on both sides... other that that it fits perfect and works GREAT! I sell them for roughly for around $85 per. Just thought I would throw this out there. I will try to get installed pics soon.
I can get these cluster direct from the manufacturer. PM me if you have questions. |

Re: Custom Tail light ideas fleetside....
Speaking of motorcycles and tail lights, one idea i saw at a bike show about 6 years ago that i really liked was on the rear fender which was quite wide, there was a painting of a skull. When you hit the brakes lights the skulls eyes would light up etc. However it just looked like paint when sitting there. LEDs were used I know that but other than that I have no idea how they did it. I will see if I can scrape up some pics.

Re: Custom Tail light ideas fleetside....
there is a 58-59 long fleetside bed on craigslist, he is down to 100 bucks, I thought seriously about cutting the taillight spears out and running them all the way up the doors on my swb 65.
here is a picture for reference.

I am working on my rendering of my tail lights and tail gate tonight. If it turns out ok, I might post up so others can make fun of me.
