Brother digital Gauge Cluster Kit

Found here -> http://brotherstrucks.reachlocal.net...number=DIGD500

Curious if anyone has installed one of these. I already plan on replacing my gauges, this would make it easier and cooler, imo.

Thanks.

Dakota Digital makes it. I have seen a couple of people on here with them. They look nice.

For that price I would check Jegs, Summit, or even just look on Ebay. I have seen them for about $100 less on Ebay.

They have expansion modules for them for all kinds of different readings. Best part is they all use the same gauge cluster. Like here is the one for the different temp readings. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd755.htm So you can have a transmission temp gauge. The whole system is cheaper in Dakota's website.

I have been looking into them a lot. They have all kinds of really nice stuff.

If it were me, I would wait for the new VHX series to hit the market. They are a LOT more legible than those old ones.

Re: Brother digital Gauge Cluster Kit

Those look ok, but I like the pure digital read-out. I wonder if I could custom order the other with red LED's?

I believe the digital ones are a Vacuum Florescent Display, which I don't think are ever made in red. It's more than just some leds causing the lighting.

Re: Brother digital Gauge Cluster Kit

Being from a sunny part of the world, I prefer analog over digital gauges because the sun washes out the display and makes a digital gauge difficult to read. My Alpine radio digital display often cannot be read in the daylight unless I shift my head way over to the right. It reminds me of trying to read a cell phone display in the sunlight. You would think somebody would have found a fix for this by now.

Re: Brother digital Gauge Cluster Kit

Ouch! $895 for the kit! Sheesh, I may stick to the older gauges. For that price, I can get the gauge cluster, shift kit, and dimming knob for about the same cost.

Anyone know if Dakota Digital's fuel sender will work with our gas tanks? http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd112.htm

Re: Brother digital Gauge Cluster Kit

I have a VHX kit for the 73-87's on Pre Order. They should be available in the next 2-3 weeks and the 67-72 will follow at about 2 weeks behind.

Once I get them, I will have a post here and on my forum of their availability. I also have the digital kits cheaper and yes, I can get them in any color you want including red, but they are non-returnable and cost $90 extra.
