WIW 68 chevy panel trucks

I have just bought my first panel a week or so ago and have now stumbled across two more. One has been wrecked and a tree fell across the roof of it so I should be able to pick it up for scrap price. The good thing is they are a couple miles from home so transport costs would be non existant, unlike the runner I just purchased with a 12 hour round trip.

The second one is all original and unmolested but problem is it has been sitting on the ground for the last 25 years with no wheels and tires. It is original 6 cyl. 3 on tree and motor appears to be stuck. From the top of the lower body molding line down looks rotten in most spots but from there up it appears to be very solid with no rust at all except for the front edge of the hood. Rear wood floor looks great as well. The rear barn doors are solid as well. I dont have any pictures yet but hope to get some soon.

I would be very interested in hearing what you guys have to say on this. I want to try and make a package deal on this but I dont want to be unrealistic about it either. My feeling is that the suspension is junk since it has been sitting on the ground so long so I think I should be able to pick up the pair very reasonable. What say you????

Thanks
Richard

I would agree on what you said about the one on the ground and that really scrap price would be max for them....but they'd be good to have for patches/parts for yours...

Thanks for the comment VA72C10

I should also mention that they both have good titles as well. The one sitting on the ground I believe is still rebuildable. Lots of metal work? Yes. but with these things vanishing I hate to see it sit and rot. I have been told that the man wants $1800.00 for just the one, not including the wreck.

Re: WIW 68 chevy panel trucks

Just keep in mind rare doesn't mean valuable or desirable. Scrap wise they are probably worth $450ish each across the scales. My local yard pays .105/lb for car scrap. I am not saying they are worth just that amount. Simply giving an idea of what you could expect for scrap.
