Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
I'm surprised you're still in painting weather up there in Canada (what part is Mount Forest in?), I'm only in the high deserts of Northern California, and it's already too cold. Barely getting out of the mid 40's (farenheit) during the day, and coming way too close to 0 at night. Good luck on getting yours squared away.

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Basically the highs are just above minimum painting temps, lows are as cold as you if only a little better. Basically I wait for the weekend, run the heater like crazy and then shoot some paint. Trying to get it all prepped for this weekend, we'll see how it goes.
I'm looking at the grill shell and intended to paint it gloss black, but the youtube guys half convinced me that I might just polish and clear it. Anbody painted their shell? Ron

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Been doing other work on the truck, really alot of little parts. Did a youtube video on dismantling the tilt column, but can't figure out how to embed it.

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Great video on the column. I've searched the web and this site and didn't find quite what I thought was as indepth as this. Trying to remove the round housing with a gear puller has had me stumped so far. I'll get it apart now.

Re: Project Git-R-Done - 72 K25
Stripped, etch primed, epoxy primed and finally painted the column and other parts of it with Gloss black single stage.
