Re: Worlds largest crane in my backyard
I got a few more pics this morning. They are setting up for the first lift and are planning to do the test lift sometime today. I'm leaving at noon today, so my luck, they will do it at 12:05pm...

Re: Worlds largest crane in my backyard
That's probably why I wasn't aware of it. I've never had any luck with the unions. Thanks for the info tho. Thanks for the new pics, that stuff's impressive, ain't it?

Re: Worlds largest crane in my backyard
In my opinion the crane op deserves anything he can get. That includes the A/C,med benefits,A good marriage, well behaved kids, loving parents,a lack of political veiws, and anything else that will relieve his stress.I've also done some lifting with much smaller machines and it can be stressful.
I'll bet there are only a few qualified/licenced to operate that bad boy. There's also probably a video system in place to watch every manuever and signal, the op and any flaggers.Liability would be a B!+C#!!!!

Re: Worlds largest crane in my backyard
Man, that is a big crane, no doubt! Our biggest crane probably couldn't lift that thing's track. It's only a 140 ton P&H
I run big commercial jobs-nothing in that league-but any time cranes are working, my stress level is off the chart. I'm glad when they are done and gone.

Re: Worlds largest crane in my backyard
Tennesseez - glad that you may have work. Atlanta is much closure to you than AZ
Oldblue - very big erector set HeavyD - thanks! I'm sure the guys run'n this thing make big bucks as they should. A lot of liability on them shoulders... Boatpuller - they still have that crane up there (Big Blue). It is a little taller than this one but does not have as much capacity. Big Blue was in AZ back in 2001 when they built Fab 22 if I remember correctly. That thing is huge too! Pritch - Everyone is anxious to see this this in action. I'm sure there will be a few stress balls wore out by the end of this project PanelDeland - I think this one has cameras on it. I overheard someone talking about that. We are supposed to see some closeup pictures from the construction group. I'm hoping they have a few of the cabin . Posted via Mobile Device |
