i recently picked up a nice rust free squarebody and figured i would start a build thread. it has a 25k mile 4.3 crate motor and freshly rebuilt 700r4 in it and runs really well. so....starting with a truck with no rust and a motor and trans that should be trouble free... is a major plus. that leaves me with a good starting point.....leaving just the fun stuff.

....but it needs to be on the ground, so i'll be working on getting it as low as possible. it will be a slow build because i dont have much time or money.

i'm going to use the leaf springs for now, and after the step notch i most likely will go with the bag on bar 2 link with a pan hard.

i still need to get 3 inch spindles and some slam 2700's but for now i think it's pretty low for just a couple of 2500's....... and with the 31x10.50x15's!

pipe notches are in and tacked (not in pic) and although i can weld, i'm just going to drive my truck down to the local muffler shop and get someone to lay some nice beads for a 20 dollar bill.

one day i plan on putting step notches in ( i have already built some out of 2x4 suare tubing) on the rear but i need to see my truck with the bed on before i know if its worth it. in other words, if my front only goes down 2 1/2 more inches and i dont plan on a dropmember or a Z....i may be ok with the c notch....

probably going to go with boss 338 20's and a 45 series tire
