and puts out 650 pound feet of torque at around 2000 rpm.

The took a A6 compressor and made a motor out of it!!

That's what I thought the first time I saw it too. It looks just like the old A6 compressor. I wonder what that puppy would sound like with headers and turbo mufflers? It's supposed to be like a 12 cylinder recip engine.

Gotta be small cylinders for only 200 horse out of twelve piston's. It might sound good, and very unique.

It is 375 ci. The reason the horsepower "appears" to be so low is it is a low rpm engine. Dyno's only measure torque...horsepower is a mathematical equation....RPM x Torque / 5252 = horsepower. If this thing puts out what they say it does, it would put a big block to shame, BUT it would suck with a standard 3 or 4 speed transmission. You would need a bunch of gears to take advantage of its small powerband.

It's an interesting design. If you go to the site, it has 12 cylinders opposing each other in banks of 6, but only 6 pistons.

Each piston is double-ended, and the expansion of combustion gasses from one cylinder pushes the piston down into it's opposing cylinder. Kind of like a steam engine getting power from both directions of the stroke.

The powerband, as they noted, though, is pretty small. Seems to redline at 2k. Maybe REALLY tall rear gears and a 6-speed?
