64 SWB Brake line question

I installed a disc/disc set up on my 64 swb. New prop valve, master, and booster have been installed. I got new brake lines (pre-flared) and they are 3/16" line where the orginals where 1/4" lines.

Is this alirght or should I switch to 1/4"?

Thanks for you help! I should probably add some pics sometime. New engine gets here this week!

Re: 64 SWB Brake line question

If you're talking about the front lines, 3/16" is fine for the front discs.

Thanks Captain. What about the rear? I have the orginal line that is hooked to the frame, but I tore the rest out because it was in the "T" with the fronts. I am running discs in back.

I will get back to you on those engine mounts this week. I didn't make it to the junk yard today.

Re: 64 SWB Brake line question

I believe the line that goes to the rear brakes is 1/4" from up front, back to the hose that drops down to the rear end. Then it tees off with 3/16" to each side. If you can, I would run 1/4" from your proportioning valve to the line on the passenger side frame rail that goes to the rear.
