Roll call "LED tail lights and parking lights"

Who's running LEDs on the front or rear of their truck, and are you happy about it or not. Let me know.

I was happy with these on my old truck ....

They were super bright and worked well. I rolled that truck without a hood, so I picked up some resisters and wired them in parallel with the tail wires under the dash (in order to get a nice steady flash speed).

My dad has them both on his crew....I think it is an acquired taste, I like the brightness of them, so does he, but they do look different.

Re: Roll call "LED tail lights and parking lights"

one thing my dad found out when he bought the lights was that he needed not just the LED flasher but a LED reverse polarity flasher, one for the turn signals and one for the E-flashers too.

Classic parts is where he got his parts from.

Why the reverse polarity? Would you please explain that further?

Re: Roll call "LED tail lights and parking lights"

I dont really know why it needed it, but they sent a "regular polarity" flasher unit and he couldnt get them to work, he called them and they said the reverse polarity flasher will work and they were right, works like a champ.

I have em in my 65. Had to make short little jumpers to plug the new flasher in backwards to make the signals blink.

Re: Roll call "LED tail lights and parking lights"

I'm all LED except headlights and instrument cluster. I love them due to the low Power used. Leave the parking lights on, no problem.

Headlights are coming. Check out these in the attached pdf file. I don't know the cost or if they are good.

Here is another thread on the subject

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=290484

The picture shows the red LED's with clear lens on the left and a red bulb with clear lens on the right.

Do you have a picture of the underside of your rear led lights? I have some and am having a helluva hard time figuring out how to secure the wires so that they do not break off where they are soldered to the back of the led. Thanks.

Very happy with stainless tail-brake-turn signal combo that replaced original, complete unit perfectly. No issues , just kept original flasher that does just fine. Great quality: just dunno where they came from(maybe LMC?) as were Xmas gift last year.
Would love to find led-replacements for front park-turn signals in hood; bulbs keep trashing as hood fits so tight, originals won't take much slamming abuse!

Can you explain? I have them on back but my front flasher will not blink and tried both led flashers (regular and reverse polarity) never could figure it out so I removed the fronts.

Re: Roll call "LED tail lights and parking lights"

Last night I ordered Frenching cups and chrome wire covers from Speedway motors. I will have to do a little mods to the cups but they should work. I'll post pictures when I get them going.
