what engine perches with factory manifolds?

Does either the classic performance products engine perches or the performance online perches allow enough clearance for use of the factory exhaust manifolds. The engine is a 2003 4.8 , I cant fit headers in my budget right now.I think I'm gonna get a new radiator for my 68 c10 if can use my exhaust manifolds.

Re: what engine perches with factory manifolds?

See if you can find some used Trailblazer SS manifolds. They have pretty much the lowest overall clearance required. The big hump and angle of the flange make them tough to fit.

I am working on the swap right now.. I do not beleive the truck manifolds will fit with any perch with cutting the frame, however, I could be mistaken.

Truck manifolds will require cutting large portions of the frame

Thats actually a good question, not many of them around, let alone for parts.

03-04's used a 5.3 and I assume the truck manifolds. the 05 got the Ls2 from the vette/gto, not sure which manifolds that setup got...since I guess it could be the truck style, tbss style, or y body style.

What about the new camaro exhaust manifolds? Anybody tried them?
They seem to be cheaper.

Re: what engine perches with factory manifolds?

I'm curious as well, they would need to be cheap enough and flow better than stock. Looks like the tbss manifold to me. I wouldn't doubt they want $300+

Re: what engine perches with factory manifolds?

The SSR manifolds fit my 65 fine with no modification (heat shields included). I believe the TBSS manifolds are the the same (same platform as the SSR).

I used the factory SSR engine mounts, required modification, but they are out of the way of the manifolds and the low mount AC compressor.
