So here I go again..
Well I installed a 5.3/4l60 in my 67 and love it. However, I purchased an LQ4/4l80 with 3,380 miles on it... Considering the 5.3 is installed and running great, I think the 6.0 should be an easy swap!
Here is the plan. Cam swap - I purchased this cam. 236/238 .601/.605 113+3 comp cam Ordered a 3,500 stall today. Still need the spring kit and a good tune to make it all work out. I understand I have to rewire the tranny plug. this in a 67 short fleet with 4:56 gears and 18" wide tires. I do plan on a gear swap shortly to a higher ratio. What do you think?

Re: So here I go again..
I think it's a dumb idea. You should sell me that low mileage 6.0!
JK. Sounds like a plan!

very good shape. Great oil PSI and it is supposed to have 63,000 miles when I bought it.

Re: So here I go again..
The 5.3 in my 67 with the 4:56 gears still is getting 16 mpg on average. I do have the convertor lockup setup and it makes a huge difference.

I'm running 29-18-15 tires on the rear with the 4:56 gears. Yes they are very wide!

are there any options for me with the 15x10 rims on the back to get something taller than a 275/60/15?

Re: So here I go again..
I'm sure you can get whatever you want. look on Jegs, summit or tire rack and get a taller tire or just buy my 5.3 setup and call it good.... LOL

Re: So here I go again..
I have the LS6 intake and all the Camaro accessories on the way. This should be fun!
I will be offering the 5.3/4L60 with stand alone harness for sale soon.. I will not pull it until it is sold. Probably $2,000...

Re: So here I go again..
besides draining the checkbook it's good. Doing the stall, cam and springs this weekend. Hopefully I will have time to change up the fuel system, install the newer style pedal, the new tranny cooler and etc, etc, etc...
How are you doing on yours?

Re: So here I go again..
Thanks! I've done them before and trying to learn from my previous mistakes... With that in mind, I'm trying some new ideas on a few things. It should be running next weekend if a few small items arrive by Monday.

So now I'm using AN fittings on both end of the tranny cooler lines, changed to a non return fuel rail and bought a 15 cent washer for the PS pump fitting. I also had to change up my computer tune for the performance parts added and junk like that.

Re: So here I go again..

Re: So here I go again..
It's alive! Still a few small issues to workout. However, this thing seems to zing!
Getting codes P0740 and P0785 from the tranny. However, I'm thinking the tuner didn't swap the settings from 4l60 to 4l80... I will soon find out. anyone have any other thoughts on the codes?
