Awesome project! Very original style. Love your progress pics. Have to say you have very cool garage too. Nice size and lighting. Wish I had it too in my shop.

I looked at how this fellow cut his hood and could not help but wonder what he was going to do with those turn signal wells.

Damn it that truck is sick. I love the hood idea and firewall. I think I'm going to have to do that. I'm a gluten for punishment. He should just shave the t-signal holes. I joined that forum just to see more of that build. It must be nice to have all that money to spend on your truck.

I could never get the image out of my mind of the lowered, modified, brushed metal so it looks like all chrome truck.... !!
That sort of thing leaves an impression.... like staring at the sun

Re: Shrunken66Stroker's build thread.

Greg I just came across your build thread yesterday and stayed up way too late reading all 35 pages! You are doing an amazing job on your truck. I live in Vegas and am also building a 66 with a Corvette Zo6 motor. Mine is similar to yours but not quite as nice.

You have some great ideas and I wish that I had seen your thread sooner. I would love to get together some time to see your truck in person.

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing your future posts. I am very impressed.

Thanks. As you can see from my thread I haven't done a whole lot lately because I've been in and out of town with work and other projects. PM me in a few weeks and we'll set something up. Love the ZO66 name. I thought about putting that on a license plate at one time.

Is it "soon" yet? Just kidding, as I totally understand why this takes a long time. I have been rebuilding a mini bike Honda for my kids.... and it is just sitting in our school's shop 3/4 completed and no time to work on it.... of course, it is hard to ride one in -40 degree winter and a couple feet of snow....

I've been working non-stop for a few months and I finally slipped out to the garage yesterday. I cut a slug to shave the antena hole. Yes, that's it.

Looks good. Next week you can weld it in. Don't want to rush things then you'll have nothing to do.

Probably showing my experience with this question...
is it possible to perform this steering column shortening procedure without completely removing the column from the truck?
This is a project I've needed to o for years and the time is neigh!

Nope. You have to pull it. Luckily it's not that difficult to get out and it's well worth the work.
