Long or Short Box Fleetside
There has to be some opinions out there. I am at a decision point with my project and have to decide if I should continue the work on my long box or if I should start investing money on a short box fleetside. I have found the shortbox bed I would just have find a different task force shortbox frame or modify my current one. Will I regret finishing my long box later? I see all these way cool short boxes and wonder if anyone has seen a well done long box fleetside. I have the deluxe stainless for the box as well.

Re: Long or Short Box Fleetside
This is a tough call. It all depends on what you do to it and your personal taste. I've seen fleetside long boxes that were slammed and looked great low and long. Here is a tasteful example.

Re: Long or Short Box Fleetside
It used to be that everyone wanted short beds to fix up but the long beds are getting a lot of attention now. having the side trim on the bed all nice and shiny helps a lot on the long bed truck.
The one that Pancho Villa showed in post 2 is about as nice a looking truck as one will ever see short or long bed. Stepsides on the other hand look bit ungainly with a long bed. |

Re: Long or Short Box Fleetside
Have a carpenter friend that put a fleetside bed on a stepside so he could haul more.

Re: Long or Short Box Fleetside
Long or short, you just cant go wrong with one of these trucks! Step or fleet!
Its all in your taste as it will be your truck. a ton of people here like the small window, but I didnt like it as much as a big window, so 8 years after buying my small window truck I swapped the cab. If you want a shortbed, stop now and get a shortbed... but if you like the longbox, then keep it. they are both awesome... you just have to build it the way YOU want. having always wanted a big window I am extatic that I have one now... if you have 'always wanted a shortbed' then dont sell your self short, or sell and get yourself a short |

^^^ ya, what he said
if your going to haul anything with it, long and wide is my preference.

Re: Long or Short Box Fleetside
I don't think you could possibly go wrong by keeping the long box. You have the coolest looking longbox truck out there.

Re: Long or Short Box Fleetside
Good feedback. I will probably stick with the long box so that I can save money for a future project.

Re: Long or Short Box Fleetside
That is what I would do. You can make yours look sweet. No. This isn't mine. Just another fine example!

Re: Long or Short Box Fleetside
I like them both ways, short was just what showed up when I was looking in 1976.
