Re: 9 foot long

Here is a link to a 53 MOdel 3804 with 9' bed. It in in the 53 manual at the old car site (link below). The information on 3804 is missing from the 51 and 52 manuals but 53 is probably close. I have seen one in person, and I think a couple of years ago there was a thread on them.

http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...esto/53076.htm

It is rated 1 ton with single wheel rear axle, the next page after my link lists the specs.

Re: 9 foot long

Here's one in my back yard, it is a 1949 1 ton.

My 16yr old son has big dreams of building a 4x4 out of it... hopefully we will get started on it before too long.

Re: 9 foot long

It's just your standard, run of the mill 1 ton. They all had 9 foot beds when they were single wheel with a bed.

Here's how mine started out:

Re: 9 foot long

Most 1 tons had a stake bed, or a flat bed - that's probably why the old guys had never seen a bed so long

There's not many left of these truck from what I've seen, but still enough around. Just bought mine the other week. Now it's getting torn down so I'm gonna put up a build thread for it.
