Re: New un-named crew cab project......

Nice truck project Joe! Nice winter shots! Has it been a normal winter there? The lower 48 seems to be having a super mild winter everywhere.

Re: New un-named crew cab project......

Frankie,

Thanks!

The batteries, I believe, are the same
One of the four I own I bought in Oklahoma. It seems the same as the others.

I've got a deal pending up here to trade for a plow to fit one of my trucks. Most everything involved in the trade is buried under 6 feet of snow
With my luck, I'll probably get it all rigged up this summer and we won't have any snow next year...

Thanks Ryan!

This hasn't been the "normal" winter for at least the last 10-15 years.
I think we are close to breaking snowfall records this year.

Re: New un-named crew cab project......

We had nothing for snow here till the other day and still don't have much. We have grass showing, can't even bring out the sleds this year unless you're willing to drive a few hours North. That is unheard of here...believe me. I had snow drifts half way up my door last year and pretty much wore out my snow blower......haven't even started it this year.

...weird!

Not yet,

We had snow earlier in the week. Now it's slightly above freezing, I'll be going through washer fluid like crazy! Lol
We got so much snow it might be a white 4th of July

Re: New un-named crew cab project......

I've done a little bit of stuff to this thing.
I picked up a grille from bigblock73.
I got that put on.
There was a nice front bumper in the bed of my truck when I got it.

I was needing to get some good seatbelts in the back for our new baby girl. I got some grey belts from a 90-something Chevy truck.

I'm going with light grey interior trim. I have most of the trim from a 88-91 Burb. I'm going to dye my door panels and c-pillar trim to match. I also got a decent dark grey dash.

I also advanced my injector pump timing a smidge. It helped a lot. Before on a cold start up (below freezing) it would smoke like crazy and stink of unburned diesel. After there is very little smoke and hardly any smell other than regular diesel exhaust smell.

I want to get the windows tinted soon and get some more speakers installed. I'm going to keep the factory double DIN Delco radio and try to add and AUX port. All I ever listen to anymore is my iPhone...has anyone ever added an AUX input to one of these?

Thanks to another thread I got a part number for a switching AUX jack available from Radio Shack.

I'm also thinking about spray bombing the whole truck black including mirrors and drip moulding.
Only chrome is gonna be the front bumper and a matching sport bumper on the rear...

Re: New un-named crew cab project......

I realized today that this truck has the K&N air intake "upgrade"

Which is cool, I guess... I need to find some hose of some sort to fit it.
And it looks like it's missing a couple mounting bolts...

I also realized last week that the check engine light mounted to the instrument bezel doesn't have a light or socket and the glowplug light/water in fuel light assembly was kinda hacked into the bezel. I need to glue it in better.
