Re: cowl hood for 60s c10

usbody has them also for 60-61 and 62-66, but they are pinned only, made mostly for race applications. Not sure if they can be modified to accept hinges.

Re: cowl hood for 60s c10

The hoods at Unlimited look prety good, and are about the same as what I gave for a steel cowl hood for my '70 C-30.

Heres a 63 with a home-made job. Looks like a custom 61 grill too.

Here are a few pics of trucks with the cowl injection style hood. I have no info, just pics. Maybe someone else might know brands and such.

Re: cowl hood for 60s c10

i bought one from us body source and unlimited,us body source was not useable and they were total jerks about it,took forever to get,out about $550 and a trip to pick it up.unlimited was about $600,was able to use but required a lot of work.you would think for the money the prep work would be minimal.I cannot recommend either one.if you have questions pm me.

Your not the 1st person Ive heard say this. I wish they made them like the OEM hoods that would bolt to hinges. Less weight, and good metal hoods are hard to find round here.

Re: cowl hood for 60s c10

I think since I prefer the GMC style hood, that I will make my own. I have a decent GMC hood that has a bad center section anyway.
Thanks to everyone for the insight on whats available.

Re: cowl hood for 60s c10

i plan on making one myself or having my cousin do it for me! But i plan on buying an steel cowl section and cutting the sides and graphing it to my hood! i want to keep th "V" in the hood!! then i'll take a section from my other hood to extend the back of the scoop a couple inches, since they dont make steel hoods for the 60-66 trucks! i got a few pictures of a forum members truck

I've got one on mine. I like them low enough so that they look like they could be stock. Not a fan of the big jutting monstrosities.

That's one of the best ones I've seen. I really like that.

I like this one too. I agree with you about keeping them lower. I like making people (not you guys but the more general population) scatch their heads and wonder " Was that a factory option".

Re: cowl hood for 60s c10

The C-10's do look sharp with a cowl on it. Fits the original lines and the curve of the front of the hood.
