Re: late build thread...LOL
Thanks guys, the 90 style lights... I bought them off eBay and they have the black plastic mounting unit on the back so you have to trim out the core support and mount the lights from the back side... I used long carrage bolts and 3 nuts on each one... Drill 4 holes, one on each corner of mounting bracket, then drill matching holes on the core support, stick the carrage bolt in the core support and run a nut up and tighten it, run another nut on the bolt all the way down, put the light in and get it close to where you want it then bring the second nut back to it... Put the third nut on and tighten it up so your mounting bracket is sandwiched between the 2 nuts, this will give you some adjustment as well. From there it is just fine tuning them until you are happy with the fit and most of all the focus of the
Lights. All in all it is a very easy swap... Def need a Sawzall or plasma cutter and a few hand tools... I'll take some pics from the back side when I can and it will make more since... LOL Posted via Mobile Device

Re: late build thread...LOL
it looks nice i know of another guy that spayed his original rearlights in that darkening stuff in a rattlecan but he put a couple of coats of clear over it , flattened them with 1000 grit waterproof and polished them after that and they look verry factory and realy shiny

Re: late build thread...LOL
Alright badass and when you going to put that grill on I think it will look good I am thinking about making one kinda like that. Phantom grill but instead of the billet I want to use the wire overcrowding each other kinda like a strut grill or rbp. Another question what the rest of your plans for the interior?

the usual way to do it is to make rings and squares out of mdf where the speakers and watever else you want to mount intoo the doors fit intoo and use hotglue nails screws and little scraps of mdf to orientate them on a base in the direction you want the speakers to point and still be able to close the doors and figure out a way to mount the setup ontoo the top part of youre doorcards once there done when youre happy with the setup you use fleese , thats the same fabric they use in cheap joggingtrousers housepants sweaters and stuff like that and you tention the fleese over the whole thing you made from mdf and tack it all over with a tackgun once it tightened over the mdf cut the fluf thats on the back and you dont need then you mix standard fiberglass resin the same stuff they use for boats or watever and soak the fleese in it once thats dried you either use resin and pieces of fiberglass mat or use stuff called kittyhair its fiberglass hairstrands in resin thats ready mixed you only need to mix component B intoo it and aply like clay over the fleese , that will give a LOT of extra strength after that you need to grind sand aply normal automotive filler and sand fill sand fill sand fill sand etc untill youre happy with the smoothness and shape than you paint and mount them run the wires and mount the speakers

Re: late build thread...LOL
Yeah I get the whole prosses but i was just wondering how he did his because there are so many different ways. I don't really like the cat hair I would rather lay the glass mat. Wouldn't it get to thick with the cat hair and block sound waves? Thank for the input

Re: late build thread...LOL
thats a good idea if you can reach inside it all around
the thickness is actually good for the soundwaves , you dont want the box to flex as it causes standing waves (makes certan tones/frequencies come out louder than the rest )
