steel shim head gaskets for 400sb?

i have another active thread for my 400 project. one fellow mentioned steel shim head gaskets for the 400. i know you can get steel shim gaskets for a 350. i didnt think there were any avalible for a 400. where can i get some? a compressed fel pro is .040 and a compressed steel shim is .015. bumps up compression,which i could use. thanks

I bought cometic head gasket based on what you are doing they can make what ever you want. Now on that note I did have an oil leak on my engine. I had to use some sealent around the oil return area of the block head. I did not copper coat the MLS gasket as it states not to.Many have not done anything to the gasket and had no issues. Just my luck. SO if you decide to use them give Jason a call at cometic, he is very good to deal with.

BTW my MLS H/G was .040 and they will offer it how you want it. Custom bore size, thickness etc.

Yes, Cometic can make what ever thickness MLS head gaskets you want. But be prepared, they are about $90-100 each.
