Re: Kooks 1 7/8 headers+ stage2 dropmember= WINNING

Is there any chance you could measure from the center of the bolt on the Xmember gusset to the engine block on the DM engine mount? I got mine in today and they do not fit. Looks like I need to go up with the engine.

Could you post a pic of what you are having issues with? Also my dropmember is the one that does not require the c-notches for the rack so it may be a little different including the motor mounts

I ordered some from Nathan. You're right, in that we're on different Dropmembers.

Did you ever get the steering linkage routed? wondering how this turned out im in the process of looking for headers for my 86 with a extreme dropmember and thinking these may work just wondering about the steering linkage.

Any more updates on these? I was wondering if I could see a shot from below. I am a kooks dealer and we are doing a 67 c10 for a customer he would be thrilled as would I if these work out for his 408

Sorry for the delay...
Here are a couple extra pics so you can get a better look at clearance. The collectors sit much higher with the trans xmember mounted

For the guys with the extreme dropmember the DT 's didn't work because of the motor being raised. There are clearance issues at the firewall. They probably would have worked for me but I just decided on the kooks. The driver side collector is slightly lower than the passenger but I don't think it will be an issue.

I haven't checked to see if the stock inner fender will work. Would be great if they did but Ill have to check with Nate

Which Doug Thorleys wouldn't work with the extreme DM, the small tubes or the big tubes?

The big tube DT headers hit the firewall. You ready to buy some big brakes?

So the small tubes work OK? Man, I would love to have the brakes, BUT, I have 18s on the front of my truck, and I'm not putting $5k worth of brakes on my sons truck....

From this post I would say the kooks wont work with the extreme dropmember. But you could try sending last_paladin a message for more info.

Im not sure about the small tube DT headers. If the big ones didnt fit then i dont see why the small ones would but you never know.

They didn't fit. I have the extreme. I ended up making some for my LS3 based motor. I also have custom engine stands from Nate, so I am a little taller.

Thanks! I got the harness from SSP wiring. Seems to be a good product with everything nicely wrapped and them being only about a 1.5 hour drive was a plus. There wont be very many wires exposed when its all tucked away. Especially with this little TVS on top

The "huffer" looks good! What do you have underneath it? (specs please, ) Also, what angle did you set your motor at?

Going to bring this back from the dead. I know I sent you a PM but also wanted to see if anyone else had success with the steering linkage and these headers. Or any other long tube for that matter.
