brakes

bought a drum brake kit for my 48 gmc...nothing is right...the shoes are to short and cylinders are not right..also bought set of wheel bearings and the outer bearing s to small... and it was suppose to fit my truck...i look at 55chevy brakes and they look more like mine, same with wheel cylinders...any info would be great

Pictures would be great. 48 had Huck brakes and 51 and up had the modern bendix design. If they look like a 55's then they got changed sometime. if they sent 48 brake stuff and you have 51 up brakes they don't even come close to an interchange. Post your trucks brakes and then your kits and we should be able help.

the one on top is for 1948 gmc...the bottom one is what i have in my gmc...also the big wheel bearing in the back is bigger than the new one i got...

You definitely have the 51 and up brakes on your truck. Someone has changed them along the line. Nothing will interchange between the 50 and down and the 51 and up, not even the drums or backing plates.
I have never compared the wheel bearings or hubs to see if they are the same or not.

the big bearings back of hub are bigger then the ones i ordered that was for a 48 the front bearing i think will fit...it is a snug fit..that was for a 48 also...it was a bearing kit
