Where does this plug go?

Yesterday I got up under the dasy of my '64,and I noticed that the connection where the steering column wiring hooks into the main harness was hanging down pretty low.

Do the two prongs on the harness stick in anything?

Re: Where does this plug go?

Looks like a column plug to me but in the mid 60's truck there is only one not two. I wonder if someone over the years stuck a differnt harness in that truck.

Re: Where does this plug go?

Are you are talking about the two plastic prongs sticking out of the bottom? If yes then they connect into a square hole that should be on the bottom of the column to hold it into place.

Yes. Thanks for your help. I have no idea how that came loose.

Chevy Fleetside,it's possible but I think it's all original. I'm the 2nd owner, and I've had the truck for over 26 years.

Re: Where does this plug go?

there is suppose to be a flat bracket that bolts to the steering column/brake pedal mount. the "christmas tree" retainer that is pinting down would snap into that... I will try and take a pic of mine this weekend and post it

Re: Where does this plug go?

You could have two plugs if the truck was optioned with an emergency flasher unit. The unit would have the adapters on the witing harness.
