Power Steering Pulley Click/Tick (Video)
New guy, new truck.
1982 C10. 350/4spd on the floor Just bought it. It had new belts. Just changed the oil. Just had the timing redon. Running like a champ, sounded great. A few days ago the power steering belt shredded itself. Just lost ps going down the road, popped hood, missing belt. OK, np. Replaced belt. Click, click, click, click. I'm not a great mechanic. Did I screw this up? Topped off fluid (was barely a touch low), no leaks. Ideas??? THX gents, excited to spend more time on the board. Chevy C10 350 Power Steering Pulley Tick.

Re: Power Steering Pulley Click/Tick (Video)
Does it still make the noise with the belt removed? If you ask me, that sure doesn't sound like a power steering pump issue. I'm leaning more towards a loose rocker / sticky lifter, loose spark plug or an exhaust leak. Hard to tell on the video. Seems to be running rough / slight misfire.

Re: Power Steering Pulley Click/Tick (Video)
Thx Jesse,
Yeah, I guess that's my first step is to remove the belt and fire it back up. I thought lifter at first but then when I listened close the pulley seemed to be the source. Will remove and report back. Much appreciated.

Re: Power Steering Pulley Click/Tick (Video)
I'm hoping it's not from the lifter/rockers. The truck was running like a champ (just had a tune up, retimed) before I replaced the belt. Replaced belt, then noise. What the h3ll could I have screwed up replacing the belt I thought...
