BBC vs SBC front springs
differences between 79 sbc front spring, and 71 bbc springs,
I am planning on using a pair of 71 bbc springs with 1 coil cut out in my 79 with a small block, my question is, the bbc springs are heavier, but are they as heavy as a 3/4 ton, or are they the same as what would be used in a 3/4 ton with a small block

Re: BBC vs SBC front springs
If you check a parts store website such as www.oreilleyauto.com you can find the Moog part number. Then go to the Moog site to see the specs for comparison. http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com...il_Springs.asp
If I did this correctly for your application, they all spec out to a spring rate of 843 Please double check me though! You can also use the chart to select a part number for a spring that fits your needs without having to know year/make/model by looking for something with similar ends, installed height etc.

Re: BBC vs SBC front springs
Should be http://www.oreillyauto.com above, sorry. Also, the moog chart can be sorted by each column header to find what you're looking for.
