Play in door hinges.
I reinstalled one of my doors back on the cab that I am rebuilding. How much play should I have before I need to rebuild the hinges? The hinges feel tight off of the truck. But I can pry up the door at the B pillar about a 1/4" is this normal?
Thanks for your help. |

Re: Play in door hinges.
It`s much easier to do this wth the doors on and the fenders off.

http://www.classicparts.com/1960-91-...ctinfo/18-406/ I had the hinges off when I did it ,sometimes you have to persuade the pins to move...........

Re: Play in door hinges.
Thread resurrection....
When I open my passenger door, it seems to drop a bit from the latch. I guess that means there is wear somewhere in the hinges. Does that sound right, or do I have a different problem to worry about?? Thanks. Rian.

Re: Play in door hinges.
Yep, if you lift up on the back of the door by the latch and it moves up & down the hinges are worn and need new pins & bushings or to be replaced.
