Re: Just what I needed
frame is real solid, has surface rust but no pitting at all. Should clean up nice. Not sure if I will por 15 or shoot some black urethane on it.
Look at the winshield frame..... no rot at all inside or out. Suprisinglt the seam sealer is not all that bad either but I will clean it out anyway and reseal it. Maybe it will last another 40 years.

Re: Just what I needed
Some more windshield pics. Yes I am aware it is the wrong rear view mirror. I think it came out of my 69 mud truck since the windshield was busted when he bought it.

Re: Just what I needed
When he put it up in the barn he left everything in the back that he used for his side work plus the rubber floor mat. I went up to check on it a few months ago when I got the other 3 Blazers and noticed that there a bit of surface rust and flaking unger the mat from the moisture in the barn. I snatched everything out of the back to try and dry it up. The only damage is on the passenger side wheel arch has soome rust thru. I have a few extra truck ones here so hopefully they are the same/
Close up of the forklift damage. I will cut it all out and replace it with original metal from the blue 72' I parted a while back. I will toss the bumpers and tailgate and use the ones off of the black one for now. They are in great shape. I will most likely use the front clip off the black one as well

Re: Just what I needed
Forgot I had these, they were still in bubble wrap in the box covered over. I think they will look nice.
Well after I finally got the carpet strip removed here is the only hole in the entire floor of the tub I have found so far. I still have to remove the passenger side wheel tub so I may have a few more small ones I started grindin the filler out of the pass. rear 1/4 from the forklift damage and actually found more of it towards the rear by the tail lights. It got me worried there might be some stuff covered up so I took the air grinder to the common rust spot areas and removed the paint. No rust or plastic anywhere. I assume when the lift hit it it bowed it in pretty good. Inside where the tailgate resides it is separated some. Will have to pull this back sttraight.

Re: Just what I needed
Couple more pics of where I ground to metal to make sure there were no suprises later on.
I still have what is left of the blue balzer pass quarter and it appears that the area that is damaged on this one is still good on the blue one. I am going to verify that tomorrow and get it cut out of the blue one for later install. While I have the area cut open I am going to coat the inside with por-15 as good as I can. If you look closely at the back tail pan on the tub it is bent from the impact of my buddy hitting the pole. I never noticed it until I removed the damaged bumper today. The bend is right in the same area as the orange prybar. I have already pulle it mostly out but guess I forgot to snap a picture.

Re: Just what I needed
well I figured I better get rid of the bent gate and put a good one on before putting the rear quarter patch on so I can make sure to get the gap right. Got that switched out today but humidity to bad to be to productive. I should have went to NJ and got the trans/t case instead. Oh well will slip up this week.
