Steering column upgrade

So I'm thinking of changing the steering column in my truck from a solid one to a tilt and hopefully add cruise controle, I have never done something like this and don't have a garage to do it in. How hard is it to do and how expensive?
It's a automatic with nothing fancy on the column, just the shifter/turn signal switch/hazzard button and ignition

Changing the column is fairly easy and you don't need a garage to do it. Don't know what it would take to install cruise on your truck but the only part of column involved with the cruise is one wire from the turn signal stalk to engage it that is independent from the turnsignal harness. A cruise switch can also be mounted on dash rather than the column if you prefer.

I would love cruise on my truck for some reason she wants to go 65 . i dont know why she burns too much fuel for that speed. I am interested too i want to go 55 all day thats all.

I went to the junk yard and took a look around and found tilt column, with cruise and in wicked shape and was even in another Scottsdale bit it was a 3+3 dully with a bigger motor, would this be worth getting?

If I could I would.TRUST ME, there is a small fleet of trucks I would love to take out of this yard*alot you could probley still drive if they didn't punch the tanks and drain the fluids* but my driveways to small and so is my wallet

Not to hijack , but is the column in the following body style the same? I have a 1991 extended cab in my driveway.
It looks the same at a glance.
