Question Heater distributor box!

I can't seem to get it down to replace my heater core! I only found one bolt and a few of these screw looking things that are round and smooth, but I don't see how they come out? Anyone help me? Do they go thru the firewall or something and have nuts on the other side?

Yes they go through the firewall. There is one on the inside, way over next to the kick panel. Take the nuts off on the firewall and the one on the inside and it should come out, if everything else is loose.
