Question Gas tank for gen4 motor & porterbuilt kit

Looking for gas tank i can mount between frame rails in the rear that will have all the necessary hook ups for a gen4 motor. Can you guys helps me with what specifically the tank needs besides and supply and return?

I have seen a few options one from performance online but it runs over $800. And delmo i heard runs an older style blazer tank but dont know if it will work for modern gen4 motor..

how do i go about a sending unit? and fuel pump?

All help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Kris

Check one of our sponsors....Boyds Welding. Sells them setup for a carb....or efi and they look good and are a great fit.

Dunno what Blazer tank Delmo uses, but if it'd the '73-'87 style, the '87s are made for EFI. Also, PB sells tanks as well...

I went with a Boyd's tank as well. They arent cheap, but keep in mind that it also comes with a premium intank efi fuel pump already installed. Its also nice to have something that really is purpose built and made in the USA by skilled craftsmen.

I will look into this. My first concern is how low it site below the rails. I will have to see if this tank is mounted above the rails what the measurements are. I dont have much room considering the truck will lay frame.

Thanks

Re: Gas tank for gen4 motor & porterbuilt kit

I don't know your setup but if you have the room under the bed to mount the tanks tabs on top of the frame rails...I would think that what would be left hanging below would be within an acceptable range considering the rear of the frame kicks up several inches.

That said............Boyd's welding will build it to your specs. Also...if you're not in a hurry they have group buys twice a year I think.
