body side moulding

can anyone give me a idea on the measurement of where my body side moulding should be located on my 1987 fleetside ? i know on the rear it should be just under the tail lights , but on the front i am not sure .

On the Rear, you should have holes for the moulding corners, and that should give you a guide.... I used masking tape to lay mine when i painted the 87 longbed. It should almost lay at the bottom of the fuel tank door... but the rear corners should give you the best guide

the masking tape is a good idea thats how a professional installed mine while it was getting painted... he ran a piece from the front to rear of the truck and lined up moldings that way

I'm pretty sure I took masking tape and run it from under the front marker light and then to the rear molding and that worked out perfect for me. This put the molding in the proper location on the gas tank door. Find an area where you can stand back a long ways so you can see how straight it is then put it on . Make sure you clean the area with alcohol good so it stays stuck
