Found some wheels I like more... Method Racing Double Standard...

Not always liking many black wheels but those have a real good look to them, like they will be a classic someday. How are they for sizes and bolt patterns.

Those aren't the same rims though, any pic's of the ones in the first pic. Really like them, those 2nd ones must be a brother to them, haha.

I think they're the same. The first pic was a computer generated image. Also, the 15" rims have a different look with the shorter spokes then the larger diameter...

They went to the powder coaters on Wednesday to get a wrinkle black (like Harley-Davidson motors) and will be rivited to the hood. Probably towards the back fo the hood near the center. I will cut the hole in the hood and I want it to clear the under hood brace. The brace dictates the location of the vents...

I have an 09 Street Glide and I had the chrome dash powder coated in the wrinkle black... doesnt match Harley wrinkle but it looks great....

The ultimate goal is to Line-X the body inside and OUT... black on the inside floors and RED on the body.....

What size tires and lift do you have?

Does that outer ring actually bolt on and off?

4 inch deaver springs and the tires are 35x12.5. the rings dont come off.

That is only a 4" lift, looks taller, cool rim/tire combo, truck is lookin good.

OK. collecting parts and bringing them to my friends shop on Saturday to begin teardown. My registration actaully expires on Saturday and it won't pass emissions anyway.

I have my center console cut out and bent up. I mounted the shifter and will eventually have it welded up and coated. I'll take some pics as I load the truck up.

I had my waterjet guy cut me some exhaust flanges for the 2010 Camaro manifolds. I have to pick those up on Saturday as well. They were cut for 2.5" exhaust but mu existing pipes are 2.25... to save some cash I guess I'll be reducing the OD before the flowmasters.

I decided to use KORE3 to build all my FlexKORE braided brake lines. I decided against AN fittings and will be running all 3/8-24 fittings. I will use hard line from the MC to the wilwood proportioning valve. Then use the flex lines down to the frame where they split off to each corner.

Nitrous Express came out with some -6AN insulated fuel line that I want to use. I dont like braided stainelss hose so this looks like a nice alternative. I need one from the tank to the hard line and one from the fuel rail to the hard line... from summits website http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NEX-14036/

Nitrous Express triple insulated race hose has gained popularity and will soon replace most steel braided hose on race cars. Not only does it insulate better resulting in less need for purging but it also out-flows the traditional steel braided hose.

Got the truck to my friends shop along with all the parts I had stashed. Had to cut off the home made hitch to pull the tank. The wleded it to the rear frame rails as well as two more plated on each side. Ater that I pulled the rear bumper, fuel lines, brake lines shocks and exhaust.

I went to reassemble the front Dana 60 and ran into a problem. As far as I can tell the driver side lower bearing race / cup wasn't seated fully. When I install the knuckle and tighten everything down, its so tight I cant turn it... I'm going to have a shop reinstall that side...

I hope to pull the front clip along with the motor/trans/transfer this weekend... I'll try and take more pics...

PS: I dropped my 1 month old Droid Razr Maxx and trashed the screen... no insurance so I was happy about the progress I made till that happend...

So I pulled the front clip yesterday... Also pulled the bulkhead harness out to clean it up and sort out whats there. I want to run some relays for the headlghts.

Today I pulled the old motor/trans/xfer. Pulled both crossmemebers and wire wheeled the frame where the new engine mounts will go. I aso cuts rivets for the bumpstops and removed them, pulled the brake and fuel lines, cut off all the bracketst the PO welded to the frame for exhaust.... I now have a clean slate to work with.... here are some pics....

After these pics I removed the gas pedal, cleaned the 5lbs of crap out of the fresh air vent at the footwell, trimmed the steering column bracket to clear the Hydroboost bracket and removed the e-brake cable. I will be running a hand e-brake lever in the center console I'm building....

Got the axles loosely under the truck. Need some new Ubolts and for the front D60...



Ran into some issues with the rear shackle flip. Not exactly square and it was interfereing witht the body mounts......






An I need to recenter the rear axle....

Swapped out the splined end on the steering shaft to match the 2WD steering box.

Started to clean up the core support and test mount the trans cooler.

Dropped off my fenders to be media blasted and the CaptainFab firewall bracket to be powdercoated. I did receive my FlexKore hoses for the rest of the brake system...

Measured out for my fuel tank, should end up being about 35 gallons, maybe a little more... it extends above the rear axle to gain those few etra gallons... I sent the drawing (below) to the waterjet guy. I already had a 48x102" sheet of stainless steel that I was going to use for Chevelle.

how far will that tank hang down? i made mine 10" top to bottom with a 1" sump in the center so it actually hangs down 11". it is right up against the bed channels so it hangs below the frame ~6 inches. it is also about 35 gallons but i had more room to work with since it is a truck, and i slightly modified the rear frame section and made more space for it in doing so.
