Question about later model wheels
I have a 1966 GMC 3/4 ton. Still has drum brakes all around. I need to get some new wheels. does anyone know if the new style wheels will fit our trucks? Something like this:
New-2011-13-Chevy-Silverado-GMC-Sierra-2500-3500-HD-8-Lug-20-Wheels-Rims-Tires Or like this: 16-8-Lug-OEM-Duramax-Wheels-Chevy-Silverado-2500HD-GM-Rims-4x4-HD-GMC-Diesel-LT I'm not buying off of ebay, but just threw those up as examples. Any info you have will be appreciated. Thanks. Rob |

Re: Question about later model wheels
you need to check the rear wheel opening around the axle shaft area. the front should fit fine but the back would be in question.

the first ad pretty clearly says it will only fit the 11-13 models because the pattern has changed. maybe they edited that after you posted the link but my gut says no. I have seen pictures of the second type on trucks on this forum. that one may be a possibility depending on the center bore size like clyde said.

Re: Question about later model wheels
Yes, I have found that the 8 lug pattern was changed in 2011. No longer 6.5.

Re: Question about later model wheels
I would watch your backspacing too. Some of the modern wheels model look fairly flush on the outside and may not fit well. I think old rims like ours need a more centered hub.
