Lifter Adjustment

I have a 65 gmc with the 235 I6. Can you adjust the lifters while it is running like a small block chevy? I have one that is very annoying when first started, but sort of quiets down after a couple minutes...

Re: Lifter Adjustment

235 or 230?
The 230 used hydraulic lifters just like a SBC, so yes, you can adjust the lash, either running or not running. You might add some Marvel Mystery Oil to the oil and drive it a while to loosen up that old sticky lifter.
