what size 6cylinder 56 truck have?
what size of engine did a 1956 truck have ? was it 216 or 235

it was a military if it made a diffrence im going back to original motor taking the 302 out ,,

235 , i found one , complete minus intakecarb ,, now to find a huge cam port the head and slap on a tri carb , ,,, R.I.P. my little 58 283 made to a 302 ,, it was fun for the hour it lasted till the valve slapped the piston and gernade everything , and water filled the block and bent all the intake valves .. never made it out of the driveway

56 pickups had 235 six cylinders and 265 V8 engines new.
There was a 261 six but it was only available in 2 tons and up but was and is a popular swap when guys can find them. Production on the 216 ended in 1953 when Chevrolet went to full pressure oiling from the old dipper rod system on the 216. |

yeah see i was sure on the 216 only older ,, cause the guy i bought my truck from had a 6cyl sitting in corner and said it was the original one but it was a 216 , good thing ill check the numbers make sure its a 235 ,, i know where to get a 261 , down the road in a dump 2 ton sitting in a field ,also will my borg warner t-10 bolt right up or do i need a adapter plate ? ,
