65 longbox on a uhaul trailer?

Gonna go pick up a 65 c-10 long box this weekend. Will this truck fit on a uhaul trailer?

Thanks,

Steve

I've done it. Don't be completely honest with the guys at Uhaul when they ask what kind of vehicle you'll be hauling.

It will fit and haul just fine. But Uhaul won't allow it if you tell them what is going on the trailer.

A LWB will definitely fit. And when I rented from uhaul a few months ago, they had no problem with what I planned to haul.

Re: 65 longbox on a uhaul trailer?

Not sure about Nebraska but here in California U-Haul won't rent you a car trailer unless you have at least a 3/4 ton truck to pull it with. So I rented one of their $45.00 dollar a day box vans, plus the trailer from them. Borrowed my brothers 1/2 ton Chevy truck, hooked their trailer to my brothers truck and went & picked up my car (a big 1962 Pontiac Catalina) in Reno, Nevada which is 350 miles away from where I live. While the rental price on the box van wasn't bad the per mile charge was outrageous. Not sure what the demensions are on a long bed truck but for my car it's this: 17.6' long, 10' wheel base & 5.2' track width. I had to rent the galvanized trailer, it's the only trailer they have that's big enough for a BIG Pontiac. I would make sure of the wheel base and overall length of your truck before you rent a trailer to make sure it will fit.
I'm telling you this because I once rented a trailer & was told it would haul another 62 Catalina I bought at the time, made a 200 mile trip to pick the car up and the wheel base of the car was wider than the trailer. I wasn't happy.

How far do you have to go? I've heard these sway over 55mph. May want to rent a bobcat/pickup trailer from a general equipment rental place. Whats your tow vehicle?

Re: 65 longbox on a uhaul trailer?

Look at my sig picture and add a longbed on it. It's pretty tight even width wise i was worried about banging up the sides but I made it ok. They didn't want to rent it to me either i had to say it was for something else.

A little hard to see but here's my grandpas 63 on a uhaul trailer. Its def possible. I didn't take this picture btw I would have taken one without so many obstacles in the way.

I am willing to trade my left arm and left leg for that catalina (need my right arm and leg to drive it). just shoot me a PM thats my dream car either that or a 63 tempest or a 61 catalina.
