Scotts bolt in rack or no limits
i know both products are great. Im building a 68 bagged c10 i want to be able to drive it as low as possible and still maintain good ride quality and overall performance. anyone have first hand experience with either kit. Thanks!!

I will be getting mine back from Justin soon - I will post on how it handles. I intend to drive the heck out of the truck. He's doing both the front and back suspension, among other things. I can't wait!

scotts seems good as far as jmedero;s 3.5 install time with no grinding ive talked to some board members about no limits and theyve had some problems but im still indecided

Nothing wrong with Scotts or the No Limit bolt in crossmember.
Both great products. BUT the OP ask about a bolt in rack steering. I can't see spending $800+ dollar just to add a rack to a factory crossmember that hangs too low. For a little over $1k you can get the Dropmember that will work with your existing a-arms and spindles and allow you to use a production 79-93 Mustang rack. Just my opinion. Posted via Mobile Device

Flaming River has a 73-87 kit for $2600.

I'm sure he's talking about full xmember set ups. I know the install thread link I posted is of a full crossmember set up. Dan also has the full kit. If you wanting to go really low then crossmember swap is what is best.

I don't see a bolt in rack from Scotts Hot Rods,... so maybe the OP was talking about bolt-in crossmembers.

yeah sorry for the confusion its definetly for the crossmember. Porterbuilt is very nice i have there rear c notch , i just figured the scotts or no limits bolts on so hell its gotta be straight forward and an easy apllication just dont have the oney layig around and want the best overall products and fuctionality for the money

yeah im trying to make sure ive got a muncie 4 speed with clutch linkage off the firewall and a z bar off the block. will all this work with your extreme dropmember nate??

When running the extreme Dropmember, the motor is going to move slightly forward and upward. This will require the z-bar mount to be slightly raised. It will also require the clutch linkage rod (that passes through the firewall) to be tweaked a little. Nothing major, but a little bit of work. We would also need to make sure you received the older style shock mounts, as our new style will interfere with the z-bar pivot mount on the frame. I am not 100% sure as I have zero experience with the other kits mentioned (other than what I have read on this forum) but I would verify if the motor placement changes or remains the same. From what I have read on the No Limit kit, it too moves the motor from it's original location. I would assume that the Scott's kit does the same, but recommend discussing this with the vendor to confirm or deny. Our Touring kit and Mild kit move the motor less, so the z-bar mod and linkage mod would be minimal in those applications. You should give us a call if you have a chance so we can discuss the pros and cons of the different kits we offer... just to make sure we can get you the best recommendation that will fit your project/build goals. The rack conversion, along with the increased castor of the Dropmember will increase steering feel and tighten up the steering a bit.
