Thanks for posting that pic Josh!

Ryan, that's a sweet rig! I never got into Jeeps and such. If I kept hanging around with the mud and rock climbers, I had the notion at one time though.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

This is a bit off-topic, I agree that the Corvette with a Cummins is cool, but I think that an old Hudson pickup with a Cummins 6BT 12 valve would make an awesome drag racer. Perhaps one like this one from ebay:

We went to Harlan on the 19th. There was a Dodge 2500 12V that had the frame chopped, truggied, running rockwells and 49's. I was drooling and literally almost ran off the trail.

I've seen some mechanical diesel tachs in 73-80 C50's and 60's. I'm trying to locate one for the 76.

I want to put a cummins in my 40 ford, but I have a Hemi for it. I keep going back and forth between the cummins and the Hemi. I've decided to leave it a gasser so I have one thing to burn gas.

Hmm... well that's good to know, that's the first time ive heard any mention of a mech version. I'll have to keep an eye out for one. Do they look the same as the C/K trucks?

Yes, but the fuel gauge is in the tach. I've only seen one in a yard and the guy wouldn't sell it.

Thanks. It should make 550-600Hp easily. I probably won't push it super hard to try to get max HP. It probably can do 675hp with the air and fueling it'll have. The injection pump will be the limiting factor I think. I don't want to have to yank the engine out and rebuild it right out of the gate, so I'll keep it conservative.
