Re: Supercharged 6.0...700HP
Rob, I believe Hot Rod magazine has done an article on a supercharged LS engine that made that on pump gas. If I am not mistaken, they had an inter cooled Kenne Bell supercharger, but the article should be a good starting point.

Re: Supercharged 6.0...700HP
Chevy High Performance did one with a centrifugal sc that made over 700, but I think it was a 6.2L. It was a couple months back.

Re: Supercharged 6.0...700HP
Texas Speed is not a perfect shop.
Let me just say that my 418 short block they built for me had some problems. They were told from the beginning that it was a n20 motor, set the pistons in the hole with proper clearances and do not file the rings. Pistons were set with 3.5 thou and rings were filed 18/22.. They tried to tell me that is how they set up their motors seeing 300+ n20 hits. Funny, the piston mfg they used had different thoughts. Pistons needed to be 4.5 thou and rings 28/30. They eventually made it right by paying the bill at a local machine shop to fix the bores, I opened the ring gap up. They also don't give you all the details regarding high spring pressures and stock rockers, what happens to valve tips and side loading on guides. They will sell you their .675 lift spring all day but not admit to the valve tip erosion nor the heavy guide wear. When asked about that, they might try to sell you a roller rocker which requires more spring to control the added weight over the valve. But they seem to negate the need for a better than 5/16 .080 pushrods. High spring pressure will cause push rod deflection. Oh the vicious valve control circle. I could go on with other things, but I will stop there. I will just say, they are not forth coming with real technical info when you ask. For cookie cutter info, generic question sure, but not much more than that. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Supercharged 6.0...700HP
Sorry to hear that. I can only go on personal experience and the experience of a few of my buddies. But, there isn't a such thing as a perfect shop and at least they made it right by paying for it. Some shops wouldn't have even done that much and would've left you high and dry. So, they can't be that bad, even though they messed up your motor.

Re: Supercharged 6.0...700HP
[QUOTE=Hart_Rod;5698287]
I've read a few articles on the centrifugals, and some of the big ones are making crazy HP (1500+ !!!!). I'm going with the Maggie because it's quieter and like the setup for the LS motors.QUOTE] I know you have a screw-type, but I just figured you might look and see what cam/springs they used, or just gather some general info to get 700 supercharged hp.

Re: Supercharged 6.0...700HP
I had a decent experience with TSP, but that was just for a cam setup, not a built engine. From what I understand, PatG over @ls1tech still does some pretty sweet custom blower cams, and I think he has an off the shelf blower cam also. PRC dual springs haven't failed me, and I doubt you'd need more than that.
I assume your running DBC? Which bolt pattern is on the blower, the 4 bolt?

A couple of turbo guys I know are making 600-650 to the rear wheels with stock cathedral port 5.3's running ~16 pounds of boost on pump gas. They are both running the same basic setup and are using the 2004 vintage Z06 Vette cam and the Patriot Gold valve spring package. Many runs down the drag strip with no issues. This should give you some base line as to how much cam is needed to make the power you are looking for on pump gas. Base your boost level on the fuel you want to run and size the cam accordingly. Depending upon how much boost you want to run you may need a whole lot of cam. With the right tune you can run quite a bit of boost on 93-octane pump gas. My old 87 GN ran 17 - 19 psi on the street with 93-octane fuel.

Re: Supercharged 6.0...700HP
Ok, I finally picked up the powerplant I'm going to use: It's a 6.2/6L80E out of a 2013 Camaro SS with only 135 miles! Now, I've got to figure out if I want to delete the AFM/VVT because I plan on putting my Magnacharger TVS1900 blower on it......
