Re: Look what i found in Father inlaws shed
OK, I gotta ask: Why would there be hitch points permanently mounted on the bumper? This truck obviously isn't a drag car. The dust bowl was in the '30s, so they probably weren't migrating to California. Did they tow it to the fields? I know I'm overlooking something, but what is it? I'm just a city boy, I guess...

They are really handy for moving to the field. For example when seeding you usually need your seeder + a truck with seed to refill then a ride back home at the end of the day(or to the local CO OP for parts). I actually pulled my 67 home with its tow bar when I picked it up from the PO. I took it off when I rebuilt the engine but it will be going back on in the spring. Edit: Would love to see more pics of it. Old work trucks are great. Your father in law has good taste in tractors also I see

Re: Look what i found in Father inlaws shed
This reminds me of the farm truck my ex mother in law owns or used to own. She has-had a 58 longbed fleet they got back in the 70's. They rebuilt the motor in 2007 and the tranny in 2008. I only got to drive it once and we were pulling 10 tons of hey with no problem. One of the tires on the trailer blew out the load was so heavy but that truck kept going. Me and the ex have been divorced about 10 years but I think I might look up her mom and see if she still has the truck and wants to sell it. Maybe she doesnt hate me as much as her daughter does.
