Speedometer cable question. need help.

Im looking for a pic of the cable routing for my 62 k10. It comes off the transfer case instead of the transmission. I couldnt find one in my assembly manual
I had it hooked up before but it was rubbing on a driveline, now any way I route it seems way too short.

Re: Speedometer cable question. need help.

I am interested in this post...my cable like yours plugs into the transfer case but seems way too long and does not spin smoothly. It makes a clicking noise and the needle jumps all over the place below 40 mph. Are the end fittings the same on all GM stuff but available in multiple lengths? I could go for one about a foot shorter.

Re: Speedometer cable question. need help.

Thanks man. It looks way different now but i cant upload a new pic from my phone. I'll keep trying. It has a gmc hood now and chrome bumpers with guards on the front. It's going to have a pair of unity fog lights up front when i make brackets. I put a second factory headlight switch on the dash to operate them. I guess i could hook up the other functions too but I haven't decided what they will control. It's still twelve tone but that's next. Im down in battle ground. Just north of Vancouver.
