Spare Tire Mounted at Fender
Does anybody have historical info on the spare tire mounted on the fender of stepsides? What years/models was this available on? Was it an option? Any info appreciated.

There were 3 locations to mount a spare from 1960-66. Incorporated scallop in the drivers side rear fender with different mounting brackets for the short box 78 1/8", the long box 98" and the really long 108 1/4". There has been threads of passenger side mounted spare's.
Fleetside had an optional spare mount inside the box between the drivers side inner fender and front box panel. Third was under the rear frame. |
