Re: in tank fuel line

There is a hose specifically rated to be submerged in the fuel tank... the wrong type of hose will start to break down immediately...

Re: in tank fuel line

Fuel injection hose lasted only 7 days! Just ordered the right type of submersible hose (gates), $26.00 a foot. Wish I had seen this thread before I installed it, wouldn,t have to pull the bed again.

Re: in tank fuel line

This is from the Gates website.... HERE

Ordinary fuel line hose is designed to handle fuel on the inside only. The Gates Submersible Fuel Line Hose exceeds the SAE 30R10 rating and is capable of handling gasoline, alcoholextended gasoline or diesel fuel in fully immersed, mobile, stationary and marine applications.

The Gates Submersible Fuel Line Hose contains a special compound called Fluoroelastomer (FKM), which resists gas permeation and retards aging. It is also reinforced with Aramid Fiber—the same fiber used in bulletproof vests and that ispound for pound stronger than steel.
It is this advanced construction that allows the Gates Submersible Fuel Line Hose to exceed the SAE 30R10 rating, which is the standard for a submersible fuel line hose application. It also makes the Gates Submersible Fuel Line Hose the perfect hose for submersed in-tank applications.

Key Features and benefits

Engineered for constant contact with gasoline (and other liquid petroleum distillates) on the inside and the outside
Meets the SAE 30R10 specification for submersible fuel line hose applications
Fluoroelastomer (FKM) tubed cover resists gas permeation and retards aging
Aramid Fiber reinforcement—the same fiber used in bulletproof vests and is pound-for-pound stronger than steel

Re: in tank fuel line

I think 99% of people swapping to intank setups did this their first time around. You wouldn't think it would matter! Make you think twice about fuel spills or leaks that get on the outside of your fuel line!
