EGR spacer needed
Anyone have one, or know where I can get one? I am running the tall valve covers, and my EGR hits. I also need the choke block off plate for an Edelbrock Performer.

Chris, i'm not saying they don't make it but I have not seen a spacer. I made up a few block off plates out of 1/4" alum. and may have an extra one here. If you use a new gasket as a template you could easily make a spacer from 1/2" thick alum. if thats enough. Alum cuts pretty easy. if you get in a jam and are not in a hurry. i may be able to make one up at work but i never know when I'm going to get the time. lasr week i had plenty of time! .also alum can get pretty scarce there because of the G-jobs:-) .
The choke thingy you need is Edelbrock # 8901. DAVE

I had to have one for my edlebrock intake. I believe I bought it from Summitt. I don't have the tall valve covers though.

Dave, thanks for the offer, but I have ordered the block off plate through summit. The EGR spacer, I found out through Swervins site that I can get that from the dealer. So I should be fixed up.
Thanks for the replies.

It will be a spacer that goes between the EGR valve, and the intake manifold. It just picks the EGR up a little to clear tall valve covers.

I will have to look again at the vacuum hoses. I know it just bolts into the manifold, and according to the guy at the Chevy dealer, You need a good gasket like head gasket material. I was going to make a gasket out of regular gasket paper, but he said it wouldn't work. Not sure if he was just making a sale or not, but it worked

I just read about the spacer you needed. I had to put one on my sons 82 with the 305. I needed it though because of the carburator choke mechanism stuck out to far. The carb is a quadrajet and all the speed shops said I needed the spacer, espically since I wanted to pass emissions. I bought my spacer at "Lopers Speed Shop" here in Phoenix, pretty $$$ - $50 for a piece of alu.
Its about 3/4" wide and does the job, is this what yor looking for and not the 1/4" stock spacer? If so find a local speed shop, they should have what you need. Tom
